Busan chosen as the venue of the 3rd OECD World Forum

 

As the venue of the 3rd OECD World Forum in 2009, Busan, internationally renowned marine city, was selected. Through harsh competition with Seoul and Jeju, Busan will hold the 3rd OECD World Forum which will bring approximately 1,500 high level participants from over 130 countries.


It is informed that Busan¡¯s strong points with the capability of conventional facilities, internationally renowned hotel and various kinds of accommodation, abundant sightseeing places and the previous experience to hold the big international events such as the APEC Summit Meeting in 2005 earned high appreciation.

 

The 3rd OECD World forum co-hosted by the OECD and Korea National Statistical Office will be held in BEXCO, Busan on October 27 to 30, 2009. The 1st OECD World forum was held in Palermo, Italy in 2004 and the 2nd OECD World Forum was taken place in Istanbul, Turkey in 2007.

 

The 3rd Forum is expected to attract senior politicians, representatives of the international organization, Novel laureate and CEOs from the UN, World Bank, UNDP, UNESCO, IBM and Google and so on.
