Korea National Statistical Office concluded an Arrangement with the OECD for the 3rd OECD World Forum
The signing ceremony for the Arrangement between OECD and Korea National Statistical Office(KNSO) was held in Daejeon Government Complex in Korea on January 13, 2009.
The Arrangement clearly states that the responsibility and roles of two organizations, the Chief Statistician and Director of the OECD, Enrico Giovannini is supposed to attend the arrangement ceremony.
An official from the KNSO said "The 3rd OECD World forum is the international event to bring about 1,500 people from over 130 countries. This forum will be the platform to provide the opportunity to re-identify what progress means in the 21st century, to establish comprehensive sets of indicators to measure this newly conceptualised "progress" and to discuss policy making cases based on evidence such as objective indicators."
In the 3rd OECD World Forum, approximately 180 eminent figures from senior politicians, the representatives from international organizations and journalists are supposed to attend as the speaker and discussant. There will be about 20 Korean experts from every sector to speak about Korea¡¯s new paradigm 'Low carbon, Green growth,' the quality of life and strategies to be advanced county.
